Our story

We're veteran-led.

UNest is veteran-led. We built it for families who move often, spend time apart and still want a better future for their kids.

That's why the account goes where you go, and why active-duty families don't pay the monthly fee.

In 2023, UNest entered a new chapter. Our leadership team has known each other since our days at the United States Air Force Academy, and our Head of Compliance is an Army veteran.

Who gets the monthly fee waived?
Active-duty military members with an active UNest account in good standing don't pay the $2 monthly fee.

Share a valid, unexpired military ID in the account holder's name. UNest may ask for more documents and can deny the credit if eligibility can't be confirmed.
Does the 0.25% annual fee still apply?
Yes. Active-duty families still pay the 0.25% annual fee. Only the $2 monthly fee is waived.
What happens when I leave active duty?
Your account stays open and your child's money stays invested.
Can family back home give to my child?
Yes. Share your gift link, and family can give from any phone or computer. They don't need an app. How gifting works.
